It was back out to Cowtown speedway Saturday for our second race of our ASCS Lone Star Series. The weather was almost hot and very windy. This was a very special night for us as our newest sponsor to the lang14.com car this year Palm Harbor Homes came out for the race and to spend some prerace time in the pits with us. It was great to meet them and I hope they had a good time and enjoyed the races.
Tonight we had one of the boys that came with the Palm Harbor Homes group draw for us. Davis drew # 41 for us so we started 7th in the 3rd heat race. The track was heavy and fast so we set up the car to try to run at the bottom to maybe gain a few spots. Things were good at the drop of the green flag and we were able to pass a few cars ending up in 4th place at the finish. We just missed out on making the A and started outside front row in the first B.
Again we knew the track was going to be fast & tight so we tried to free up the car some but not to much as we had a bunch of fast cars behind us. At the start we took off and when I hit turn 1 the car was so tight it got up on the right rear and snapped over before I could save it. It was a bit of a rough ride and I had to sit for a while to get my composure but our night was done.
Mom & Jessica did candy call and had a large turn out for that.
Again I would like to thank all the fans and friends that came by and also everyone with Palm Harbor Homes. Our next race is at Cowtown in 2 weeks. Hope to see you there.
