4/27/09 Entry:
Hi everyone,
This weekend it back to Cowtown Speedway for night number 2 of the Cowtown Sprint
points season. It was nice when we arrived at the track about 75 but very windy. The track
looked to be in good shape so we were hoping for a good night. We had a good car count
about 20 cars so we had 2 heats races with 10 cars each. Jessica drew for us again as she
did so good last week but her luck must have run short as we drew a 60 putting us on the
4th row inside in heat #1.
After hot laps and making a few changes on the car we headed out for our heat race. At the
drop of the green flag I took off and when I hit turn one, the car took a hard set and the car
behind me got into my left rear tire and we both almost crashed but were able to keep
going. Just a racing deal. The car was good and we made it up to 3rd place when the
checkered flag fell.
That put us starting on the 3rd row inside for the feature. The track was starting to dry out
on the top and we had a hard time deciding what changes to make so we tightened up the
car some and headed out.
At the start of the race the car was good on the bottom of the track so I kept working the
bottom. We had a few cautions and I was able to work my way up to 3rd by the time the
checked flag fell.
Over all we had a good night and we now have 2 top five's in the last 2 nights so thing are
going our way.
Again I would like to thank all of our fans and friends that stopped by to say hi and to thank
out great sponsors as we could not do it with out them. Next week were are off and hope to
hot lap one of our other cars as we get ready for 2 back to back weekends of ASCS action
that will be 4 nights of racing in 9 days.
