May 10, 2008 we ran out at Devils Bowl Speedway for the ASCOT Race. The team and I were
completely ready to go at 5:00 pm. Around 6:00 pm we had rain on our parade - literally.
After rushing to get the car and all the tools back in the trailer, the team and I made it back
in the truck before it really started to pour. This unwanted weather brought with it nickel
size hail and the storm lasted for about 30 minutes. As it all cleared all off only one
question was on my mind. Was Lanny going to call it? So after four hours of them working
on the track getting it race ready and us patiently waiting it was finally finished.
I drew in number 33, which started me in the 3rd heat in the 3rd position. At 11:00 pm I took
the track. The track was fast and heavy, with very little passing I finished off 3rd.
With the feature getting closer and the team still walking around in heels due to the mud
from the rain. We all worked quickly to get the car ready for the A. I started 11th and within
the first few laps was up to sixth or seventh, though I felt back because I couldn't keep the
car down in 3 or 4 because we weren't on the money with the set up. We finished the night
in 14th, over all the track was fast and it was a great race.
