It was back to Cowtown this weekend for our second to last points series night. It was hot & dry with a nice breeze out of the south. We had 20 plus sprint cars in the pits tonight.
The track looked good and heavy so we set up the car for a fast track & headed out for hot laps. At the start of our hot laps I hit the gas and the car took off then slowed down. I tried it again and it did the same thing.
I pulled in the pits to check it and I also noticed the power steering was acting strange. We added some fluid checked all the fuel related items and headed back out to get in the second set of hot laps.
I pulled out on the track and hit the gas & it did the same thing so I pulled it back into the pits. After we thought about it for a few seconds we realized that the power steering was still bad and that the power steering & fuel pump run off the same drive spud.
We pulled it apart and found the power steering pump shaft was bad we loaned a pump from our friend George White and put it back together just in time for our heat race.
Jessica drew number 37 for us tonight so that put us starting 6th in the second heat race. So we took to the track and took off at the green flag. The car was good and the power steering was working ok. The track was lock down fast and we were still able to pass a few cars and finish 4th.
That put us starting 8th in the feature. By this time the track was going dry so changed the set up and headed back to the track. At the drop of the green flag we took off and the car was good,
We were able to work our way up to 4th in about 10 laps then the track went away and that was a far as we were going to get for the night.
This weekend we are off so we plan to hot lap one of our other cars at the Devils Bowl on Saturday night to get ready for the next three weekends of racing. We will race 5 times in 15 days so it's going to be busy.
Darin will be working on updating our web site and we hope to add some more pics and a merchandise area so be watching.
Again thanks to everyone that stopped by to say hi & please remember to support all of our great sponsors.
